About the Chef

Dave Hulin – Executive Chef & Co-Owner  

A Native of Morgan City, Louisiana, Dave Hulin’s culinary career began early on in his life, inspired by his South Louisiana Parents and Family with their love, respect for quality, passion for food and traditions of family-owned restaurants and cafés.  Hulin’s Culinary repertoire flourished during an internship with several Chef’s as he worked under close direction at Benno’s Seafood Restaurant and Catering located in Galveston, Texas at the age of 21.  

Chef developed and refined his culinary techniques while serving 12 years in the U.S Coast Guard and attended culinary school through the Coast Guards Culinary Specialist program. While food is about sustenance and nutrition, the Coast Guard instilled that food was critical to morale, camaraderie, and contentment.  

It was in the private world though of being a Personal Chef, where he extended his skills to all outlets from private in-home cooking to large private parties, pleasing the palettes of exclusive clientele.  Chef found his passion and making people happier through obtaining a further degree in Catering and Gourmet Cooking and began appealing to the eye through theatric cooking as well as the pallet with original flavors.  

Chef Dave continues to delight guests with his refined, contemporary cuisine as well as traditional Cajun style dishes.  On any given day Chef Dave can be found creating dishes such as: Crawfish Etouffee, Boiled Seafood, Gumbo, Blackened Redfish & Chargrilled Blue Point Crab.  He believes the most flavorful cuisine is made simply with the freshest, highest quality products and he considers it part of his job to inspire and educate others about the traditions and styles in the South Louisiana and Acadiana area. 

Today, Chef Hulin is the Founder and Co-Owner of 180° Cajun Blendz & Seasonings, LLC® (Cajun180®) where he continues to educate and create Sustainable Healthy Choice Seasonings that are making an impact on the Health Community as well as shattering the competition brands.  Chef Hulin is featured in the Cooking Louisiana – Culinary Visions® Series where he still strives to educate and preserve the cooking traditions, stories and history of South Louisiana.  Special features in the Daily Iberian Newspaper and Acadiana Lifestyle Magazine have turned Chef Dave’s creative style into a local sensation amongst local South Louisiana Foodie followers!
